Recognition

Vienna Insurance Group employees also spend countless hours doing voluntary work during their spare time. The number of employees regularly involved in such activities can only be estimated based on the large number of nominations that have been submitted for the Award in Recognition of Commitment to Voluntary Activities, which was introduced in 2013. All employees are invited to nominate colleagues who they know do valuable voluntary work in aid of social causes and help the most vulnerable members of society. The winners are then selected from the nominations.

In 2017 the winners were employees at Group companies in Austria, the Czech Republic, Georgia and Lithuania. These people serve their communities in a wide variety of ways: by teaching disadvantaged children; working for hospices, handling dogs for a search and rescue association; and carrying out neighbourhood, refugee and homeless support – to name but a few.

Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein presents these awards to highlight the importance of a sense of togetherness and solidarity in the community.
