I am very pleased to welcome you on our website. The aim of this platform is to present the main shareholder of the stock-listed holding company Vienna Insurance Group AG Wiener Versicherung Gruppe to a larger public. The roots of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsvereins date back to the year 1824. Since the foundation of the enterprise, we have been firmly committed to social and cultural issues – and this commitment has become an integral part of our corporate culture which we are now cultivating in so many countries of Europe. One of the core tasks of the main shareholder is to uphold and safeguard the Group’s economic independence.

Vienna Insurance Group and its insurance companies are active in 25 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, allowing customers to hedge against the risks of daily life by taking advantage of modern insurance solutions. In an increasingly integrated Europe we consider our economic success a challenge as well as an incentive to commit ourselves to cultural and social matters. We wish to assume this responsibility by conducting numerous projects as we are convinced that enterprises should not limit themselves to economically responsible activities.

We act in a future-oriented way to safeguard past achievements and offer stability. Beyond the material purpose of the enterprise, Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein regards its commitment to social and cultural projects as another task of the enterprise to promote positive developments in the interest of a democratic-pluralistic society. Social commitment and intercultural understanding as well as exchanges among the cultures that shape our lives in the centre of Europe are part of this mission.

On this website you will learn more about projects and initiatives which we support and the impetus we provide.

I hope you will enjoy reading our presentation!

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Günter Geyer
