In cooperation with the European Youth Forum Neumarkt (EYFON), Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein invited for the first time to the EYFON VIG YouthDays at the beginning of August 2019, which took place at the Europaburg Forchtenstein in Neumarkt, Styria. The EYFON VIG YouthDays offered young people from Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary the opportunity to get to know their home country Europe. “We want to convey such important values as diversity and internationality to the young European generations in particular. The ‘VIG Youth Days’ promote the intercultural understanding and exchange of those cultures that shape our lives in the centre of Europe from an early age,” explains Günter Geyer, Chairman of the Managing Board of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein. Like, for instance VIG Kids Camp is another initiative of the Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, which invites around 500 children of VIG employees from all over Europe to Austria every summer for two weeks.
A varied programme
In addition to workshops, discussions and lectures on the subject of Europe, the participants (all participants are children of employees of Austrian, Hungarian, Slovakian and Czech VIG Group companies and between 15 and 17 years old) enjoyed a varied leisure programme – from geocaching, go-carting on the Red Bull Ring to a visit to the climbing garden. In order to get hold of one of the much sought-after places at the Europaburg, originality was already in demand in the run-up to the event: Interested people were able to convince with videos, collages or statements in English on the topics “Ideas for Europe” or “That is Europe”.
