Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein sponsors projects that strengthen international bridge-building and cross-border encounters, such as the EYFON VIG YouthDays, a meeting and dialogue forum for young adults from all over Europe.
For the fourth time, it was all about Europe at Forchtenstein Castle in Styria: In the second week of August 30 youths aged between 14 and 17 – from Albania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Romania, Serbia and Hungary, among other countries – created a collective vision of the future of Europe. The initiator and sponsor of the VIG YouthDays is Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, which launched them in cooperation with the European Youth Forum Neumarkt (EYFON).
In workshops and group work, the participants discussed and presented their ideas for changing the world. The focus was on topics such as solidarity, environmental protection, innovation, education and health. The costs for the VIG YouthDays at Europaburg Forchtenstein, as well as for overnight stays and travel are fully covered by Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein.
In order to get one of the highly coveted places at the Europaburg, the potential participants were asked to be original in the run-up to the event: interested people convinced the jury with elaborately designed videos, collages, poems and essays on the topic of “How my ideas will change the world”. From more than 230 entries, the creators of the best and most creative contributions were invited to take part in the diverse programme of workshops, lectures, discussion rounds and leisure activities.
