Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum

Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein began collaborating with Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum in 2015. Under the partnership, Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein became the patron of the Imperial Treasury, which is housed in the historic surroundings of the Hofburg and comprises the Secular and the Ecclesiastical Treasury.

The Secular Treasury gives an insight into more than a thousand years of European history, and includes insignias and jewels from the Holy Roman Empire, as well as Emperor Rudolf II’s crown, which later became the Austrian imperial crown. The Ecclesiastical Treasury paints a fascinating picture of the history of art, piety and religion. The exhibits cover everything from the medieval cult of relics, Catholicism in the Habsburg era and the Counter-Reformation to the piety of rulers in the post-Baroque age and Austrian folk religion.
