Ö1 Talentestipendium (Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts)

Mariya Vasilyeva is the winner of the Ö1 Talentestipendium für bildende Kunst 2019, Kerstin Fischbacher is this year’s Ö1 “audience favourite”.

For the fourth time Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein presented the Ö1 Talentestipendium für bildende Kunst (Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts), endowed with 10,000 euros. This year’s winner Mariya Vasilyeva accepted the art award in the gallery rooms of the Krinzinger Projekte. A selection of her works is on display there alongside those of other nominated artists. The Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts is a unique Austrian art sponsorship project for students of Austrian art universities and was awarded for the twelfth time this year. “Together with Ö1, we want to create space and opportunities for young talented students. The scholarship is intended to form the basis for an intensive and undisturbed engagement with one’s own work. We offer young artists a platform that is visible from afar. This is why we are presenting a selection of nominated artists in a joint exhibition in the gallery rooms of the Krinzinger Projekte in addition to works by the two award-winning artists,” explains Barbara Grötschnig, Head of Corporate Sponsoring of the Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) and Art Collections.

The works of both winners 2019 as well as the works of selected nominated artists are on display from 30 October to 8 November in an exhibition curated by Philippe Batka in the gallery rooms of the Krinzinger Projekte:
