Ö1 Talentestipendium (Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts)

For the fifth time, Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein invited to the award of the Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts. On the evening of 28 October, the shining winner Simon Lehner received the EUR 10,000 young talent award, made available by Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, in the Leopold Museum. Sara Lanner was chosen as the “public favourite” in the Ö1 public voting 2020.

“In addition to encouragement and support, young art above all needs space to develop. The Ö1 Talent Scholarship enables young artists to engage more intensively with their art. We also put the spotlight on young artists: Besides the works of the two award-winners, a selection of works by all of this year’s shortlisted artists are on display at the Leopold Museum,” explains Barbara Grötschnig, Head of Corporate Sponsorship and Art Collections at Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein and Wiener Städtische Versicherung. She is one of the members of the Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Fine Arts jury, together with Philippe Batka (Curator of Art Collections at Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein and Wiener Städtische Versicherung).

The Ö1 Talent Scholarship is a unique art sponsorship project for students of Austrian art universities and was awarded for the thirteenth time this year.
