At the premiere of “The Ringturm, Architecture and Art in Conversation”, famous architect Boris Podrecca presented himself in a witty, pointed and humorous way.

“Dogs pee on my art.”

In front of TV cameras and rows of spectators filled to the capacity, architect Boris Podrecca talked live to cultural manager Gerald Matt. The one-hour talk followed by questions from the audience took place in the middle of the current “Architektur im Ringturm” exhibition. “I’m a bricklayer who learned Latin”, explained Podrecca, who grew up in a “polyphony of languages”, which not only influenced him significantly, but especially his architectural work. Moreover, “architecture is not art, it is at most applied art – and dogs pee on my art.”

The more than successful premiere of the new talk series “The Ringturm, Architecture and Art in Conversation” is now available online at www.w24.at (in German only).
