Vienna Insurance Group employees also spend countless hours doing voluntary work during their spare time. The number of employees regularly involved in such activities can only be estimated based on the large number of nominations that have been submitted for the Award in Recognition of Commitment to Voluntary Activities, which was introduced in 2013. All employees are invited to nominate colleagues who they know do valuable voluntary work in aid of social causes and help the most vulnerable members of society. The winners are then selected from the nominations.
In 2025, Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein presents the Award in Recognition of Commitment to Voluntary Activities for the 13th time. Within the VIG Wiener Versicherung Group, this award honours employees who engage in voluntary work in their spare time. The VIG Wiener Versicherung Group has over 30,000 employees in more than 50 companies and 30 countries, including Wiener Städtische Versicherung and DONAU Versicherung in Austria.
The 2025 award winners from Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Georgia, Türkiye, Czechia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania and Lithuania are engaged in a wide range of voluntary activities that benefit society. Among other things, they support disadvantaged families, children and elderly people, as well as people with disabilities. They are committed to human rights, education, disaster relief, environmental protection and animal welfare, and many of them volunteer with the Red Cross, mountain rescue services or Bátor Tábor.
Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein presents these awards to highlight the importance of a sense of togetherness and solidarity in the community.
