Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein sponsors projects that strengthen international bridge-building and cross-border encounters, such as the EYFON VIG YouthDays, a meeting and dialogue forum for young adults from all over Europe.
The EYFON VIG YouthDays 2026 took place at Europaburg Neumarkt from 2 to 7 August. Thirty young people aged 14 to 17 from 15 countries came together under the motto “United in Plurality” to spend a week exploring topics such as diversity, prejudice, different perspectives, media literacy and peace education. The week-long programme combined interactive workshops, excursions and outdoor activities with opportunities for intercultural exchange. Alongside the workshops and educational activities, getting to know one another, exchanging ideas and sharing experiences were an important part of the week at Europaburg.
“As a representative from Lithuania, this was my first time participating in the EYFON VIG YouthDays, and it has been a truly inspiring experience. From the very first minute, I was welcomed by incredibly warm and open people, which made it easy to connect despite our different backgrounds. Coming from a country on Europe’s eastern border, conversations about stereotypes, plurality and cooperation feel especially meaningful to me. I arrived representing Lithuania, but I’m leaving feeling connected to a much larger European community,” says Urte from Lithuania.
“Before coming to the EYFON VIG YouthDays, I thought it would be all workshops and discussions, but it turned out to be so much more. I met many people from all over Europe, and it was really nice seeing how everyone had their own unique perspectives and experiences, but still got along so well,” says Aron from Albania.
The EYFON VIG YouthDays took place for the seventh time in 2026.
