Exhibition preview: Skopje - Macedonian architecture in context
The upcoming exhibition looks at the extraordinary architecture of the Macedonian capital Skopje. Located on the banks of the River Vardar, the city has been settled for more than 2,000 years and has experienced various ruptures in its history. Skopje was also subject to a host of different influences. Shaped by the Ottomans, the city pivoted towards Europe following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire without any radical changes to its appearance.
