Aleksej Brkić (1922-1999) was the pivotal figure in Serbian neo-avant-garde architecture in the 1960s and 70s. Brkić’s oeuvre, which meets the highest international standards, is characterised by proportion and malleability, as well as logical, functionalist composition that in part follows mathematical principles.
