Global Cities: Vienna – Budapest
Urban Spaces in Times of Change 1970 – 2026
10 November 2026 to 5 March 2027

The third instalment in our series of city comparisons focuses on the development of Vienna and Budapest from the 1970s to the present day. The exhibition retraces a period defined by opening and transformation – from the Cold War and EU integration to migration and climate change. Comparative photographs juxtapose the urban architectural dynamic in both cities and, in the process, shine a light on surprising commonalities as well as the capitals' unmistakable characteristics.
