All over the world, the term “hospice” (Ger: Hospiz) is synonymous with a movement that accompanies people in their last phase of life. Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein supports Hospizverein Steiermark and the Hospiz Österreich umbrella organisation as a cooperation partner.
Hospiz Österreich
Hospiz Österreich is the national umbrella organisation for more than 400 hospice and palliative care facilities. It unites organisations, associations and educational institutions nationwide. The aim of these facilities is to provide comprehensive, affordable and accessible care for seriously ill and dying people and their relatives. A particular focus is on hospice and palliative care for children and young people, with engagement in this area set to be expanded in the future.
Hospizverein Steiermark
Hospizverein Steiermark (the Styrian Hospice Association) is one of the leading and most innovative regional organisations in the sector. Founded in 1993 as an independent non-profit organisation, it is politically independent and non-denominational. Today, more than 800 employees in 32 teams provide support and assistance throughout Styria. Dying, death and grief are part of life and people must be able to live out the final stages of their lives with dignity – and Hospizverein Steiermark is showing that this is possible.
